If you are interested in becoming more involved in Ascend and wish to pursue leadership roles in the future, we encourage you to apply to be a committee member. As a committee member, you’ll have access to the following: our Ascend-member only events, mentorship program, resource database, and extensive network of alumni & professionals. We host a variety of events throughout the semester, such as professional workshops, panel/networking session, and internal bonding activities.

The deadline for the online application is Saturday, September 2nd @ 11:59AM. We look forward to reviewing your applications and further discussing your qualifications during your interviews. There are 2 applications for committee members. One is for new committee members and one is for returning members. Make sure you apply through the correct link. New applicants can apply to one community side and one professional side committee. Returning members can apply to two committees of their choice.
After the deadline has passed, applicants will be notified whether they have been selected for an interview from Sunday September 3rd, to Tuesday September 5th. After the interviews, if you are selected to join Ascend, you will be required to register as a member with the national chapter.
Many benefits are available to general members as well, including: participation in our mentorship program, admittance to a few Ascend-member only events, and access to national chapter events. General members do not have access to exclusive internal training or internal bonding events, weekly meetings, retreats, and banquets.
As such, we highly recommend you to apply to become a Committee member unless you have time restraints.
Membership to Ascend
Whether you become a General member or Committee member of Ascend, you will be required to pay a $25 annual membership fee. This fee goes towards the National Chapter to support the activities of our National Chapter. Ascend offers opportunities for students to explore their career options, develop their leadership potential, and connect with an extensive network of professionals.
Committee member applicants will only be asked to pay this fee, AFTER you are selected to join Ascend.
To register, you must create an account and pay the $25 annual membership fee. Click on the link and follow the instructions below to proceed with the registration.
- Select “Full-Time Undergraduate Student”
- Create your username using your CalMail address, input first and last name, and select Univ. of California, Berkeley.
- Click “accept membership” and continue.
- Fill in all required information, register and pay.
